The performance of "Fist of the North Star" has been decided to start at Nissay Theater in Tokyo from December 2021.
The role of Kenshiro will be played by Yusuke Onuki, an actor who shocked the musical world with his extraordinary physical abilities as Bert in "Mary Poppins" and Older Billy in "Billy Elliot: The Musical Guy". Kenshiro's older brother Toki will be played by Kazuki Kato and Ryunosuke Onoda, who are increasingly gaining presence in the musical world, in a double cast, while the roles of Rei and Juza will be played by Kanata Irei and Rio Uehara, who are well-known for their singing ability, alternating in turns.
Ryuken, the master of Kenshiro and his brothers, will be played by Tatsuya Kawaguchi, an indispensable figure in the musical world, and Kenshiro's enemy Shin will be played by a double cast of Takuya Uehara and Kandai Ueda, who are showing remarkable growth. Please await future announcements about the voices of Raoh, Yuria, Ling, Bat, and others.
The music is by Frank Wildhorn, the direction is by Ishimaru Sachiko, the script and lyrics are by Takahashi Ako, and the choreography is by Zhao Ming, so be sure to check out this collaborative production from three countries: the US and China.
The Tokyo performance will be held at Nissay Theatre in December 2021, followed by a domestic tour and a China tour in 2022.
