A collection of short stories by Fumiyo Kono is set for release. It includes a new one-shot story, "To the Artist," the entire series of "Mr. Hijiyama," a soothing story about the everyday life of the lovable, cool, beautiful college student Ms. Hijiyama, "Lise and the Primeval Forest," a story about the life of Lise Meitner, the female physicist who discovered nuclear fission, and "Odense Daikannon!", set in Kamaishi City after the earthquake disaster. It's a collection of short stories that fans will love, packed to the brim with the charm of Fumiyo Kono, who is celebrating her 30th anniversary as a manga artist.

More than 500 original manga drawings! Fumiyo Kono's largest exhibition to date to be held!
The first large-scale original art exhibition showcasing the complete work of Kono Fumiyo, known for "Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni" (Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize New Artist Award, Grand Prize in the Manga Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival, Agency for Cultural Affairs) and "In This Corner of the World" (Awarded Excellence in the Manga Division of the Japan Media Arts Festival, Agency for Cultural Affairs), will be held at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.

There have been many exhibitions of original artwork from her smash hit works "Yunagi no Machi Sakura no Kuni" and "In This Corner of the World," but this is the first large-scale retrospective that covers her entire career from her debut to the present. The exhibition will display over 500 original manga pieces, including a huge number of original illustrations, picture book illustrations, storyboards and notes for her works, the sketchbooks that appear in her blog "Kouno no Hibi," and never-before-seen footage of her working on the project, making it a truly comprehensive exhibition that will reveal everything about Fumiyo Kouno's artistic career. There will also be talk events and live painting. In addition to special merchandise, the special shop at the venue is also scheduled to sell the short stories mentioned above.
