Manga publisher Coremix Inc. (Musashino City, Tokyo) will be holding an exhibition of Asamiya Kia Mechanics original artwork, "Kurogane," at the manga-themed art gallery GALLERY ZENON from Saturday, March 8, 2025.

An exhibition of original artwork by manga artist, animator, and illustrator Kia Asamiya entitled "Kurogane" will be held at Gallery Zenon in Kichijoji. The exhibition will feature a selection of illustrations that he himself has selected, focusing on SF mechanics. The exhibition will allow visitors to experience his wide-ranging work over the past 39 years, and his diverse approaches.

Online reservation admission fee: Adults (junior high school students and above): 1,000 yen on weekdays / 1,300 yen on weekends and holidays
Same-day tickets: Weekdays 1,300 yen / Saturdays, Sundays and holidays 1,600 yen
Free for elementary school students and younger. Children younger than elementary school age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Kia Asamiya, who has released numerous works as a manga artist and animator, is also active as an illustrator, producing numerous artworks based on anime and special effects. In 2024, he won the 55th Seiun Award in the Art category, which is selected by votes from science fiction fans.
The Kia Asamiya Mechanics Original Art Exhibition "Kurogane" will focus on his side as an illustrator, and will display a variety of rare illustrations, including analog illustrations that are not normally seen and that were selected by Kia Asamiya himself, with a focus on SF mechanics.
Experience the wide range of work and diverse approaches that Kia Asamiya has demonstrated as an illustrator over the course of his 39 years.
■Exhibition content
Approximately 70 pieces will be exhibited, including many of Asamiya Kia's original artwork for the "Space Battleship Yamato" series and "Legend of the Galactic Heroes Die Neue These," as well as product packaging for robot anime and science fiction works, and original artwork for hobby magazines.
■Original exhibition pamphlet (A4 size, 16 pages, full color) will be on sale for 1,000 yen (tentative price)
■ Profile of Kia Asamiya
Born in Kitakami, Iwate Prefecture in 1963. Worked as an animator under the name Michitaka Kikuchi.
He began his career as a manga artist in 1986 with "Shinsei-ki Vagrants."
In 1988, he began serializing "Silent Mobius" in the monthly Comic Comp magazine. He has many other representative works, including the "Kanojo no Carrera" series.
In addition to their original manga works, they have also worked on American comic book originals such as "BATMAN CHILD OF DREAMS," "Uncanny X-Men," and "Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace," and have received high praise both in the United States and around the world.
As a designer, he participated in the creature design of "Kamen Rider Fourze". He is currently serializing "Her Carrera GT3" at LEED Cafe. He is also preparing for the new year's serialization of "Captain Symphonica".
