Coremix is collaborating with Shibaura Institute of Technology to conduct research into the "biological reactions caused by manga."
As part of this research, a paper presented by Sota Kurihara (left, photo), a second-year master's student in the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Information Engineering at the Shibaura Institute of Technology Graduate School, won the Best Work-in-Progress Paper Award at APRIS2024, an international conference in the Asia-Pacific region.

The purpose of the study is to clarify the positive effects (stress reduction) that reading manga has on people.
Kurihara investigated the stress-reducing effect of having similar personalities between the protagonist of a manga and the reader. The results of the study suggest that similarity in personality produces the above-mentioned effects, and that the effect is greater when there is personality similarity than when there is no personality similarity. Four works published by Coremix were used in the study.
