 The final performance of Meiji-za's 150th anniversary stage play "Mage the Cat's Eye" will be performed at Meiji-za in Tokyo from February 6th (Tuesday) to March 3rd (Sunday), 2024.
“CAT’S♥EYE” has gained explosive popularity since its release in 1981, and continues to be loved even in the current Reiwa era. The original manga has not only been made into an anime and a live-action movie, but has also been adapted into various media mixes. This stage version is set in the Meiji era, which is also the time when Meiji-za was founded, and is an original story in which the three sisters of the phantom thief Cat's Eye perform their most vivid thievery. The three sisters of the phantom thief Cat's Eye, who are the main characters of the story, are triple-starred by Norika Fujiwara as Hitomi Kisuo, Reiko Takashima as Tetsuya Kisugi, and Ayame Goriki as Ai Kisugi. Co-stars include Rurika Miya, an original character from the stage version, who plays the mysterious person who appears at the coffee shop run by the three sisters, Toshiyuki Sometani, who plays Toshio Utsumi, Hitomi's lover and the police officer who chases Cat's Eye, and Takeshi Hirano, a detective who is Utsumi's junior. Masahiko Kawahara, who directed the stage play "Mage the Cat's Eye," Hiroki Nanami, who appeared in "GeGeGe no Kitaro" and starred in "Reiwa Senbonzakura ~ Yoshitsune and Benkei," made his stage debut in "Red Beard." Eiichiro Funakoshi, who appeared on the show and served as the chairperson for the first time, said, “Great Gyakuten! Croquette, who has many experience as a chairperson at the Meijiza, including ``Oedo Sakura Homare'' and ``Reiwa Senbonzakura Yoshitsune and Benkei'', ``Koi, Burning''. ~Matsuyo Akimoto's ``Osan's Love~'' ``Great Reversal!
