A total of 15 lectures on “The Front Lines of Manga Content” begin at Kumamoto University Faculty of Letters!

The ``Modern Cultural Resources Course'' has been newly established in the Faculty of Letters, Kumamoto University. Shuichi Mochida, representative of Kumamoto Coa Mix, was invited as a lecturer for the manga lecture in the second half of 2020.

The ``Modern Cultural Resources Course'' is the first national university to study manga and anime as cultural resources in an effort to preserve them for future generations. From September 30th, online lectures using Zoom began. A total of 15 lectures will be held once a week until February 2021.

In the lecture, Mochida, who has extensive experience in manga production as an editor, will discuss the latest market trends and the secrets to character creation that go into making a hit work. Additionally, Mochida provides an in-depth look at the work of ``editors who act as catalysts for the production of manga artists'' (Mochida). Furthermore, he outlines what Coamix thinks is important for making manga, calling it ``a method that I would definitely like to pass on to anyone who wants to become a manga editor, critique/analyze, or write a scenario'' (Mochida).

In the future, representatives from each of Coamix's business departments are scheduled to participate in the lectures. Members working on the front lines will also be on stage to provide the latest information on manga editing, sales strategies, licensing business, etc., as well as the future of manga and the manga business.
