Coamix Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "our company"), which organizes the silent manga audition, will be holding the Kumamoto International Manga CAMP (tentative name) in September 2018 in cooperation with Takamori Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture.
There are currently approximately 200 overseas manga creators who have applied for and won awards at the Silent Manga Audition. Among them, there are over 50 particularly excellent members (master class). They come from a wide range of nationalities, including Indonesia, Brazil, Thailand, Italy, Russia, Germany, Vietnam, Jordan, and Chile. Our company's purpose is to "develop manga outside of Japan" by interacting with young people from all over the world who aspire to become manga artists, and providing educational support.
In order to further spread the word about good manga artists around the world, we gathered promising talents in Takamori Town, Aso District, Kumamoto Prefecture, and created manga using the town's folk school (a facility that used an abandoned school). We will teach you the know-how.
During the three-day period (scheduled), participants will learn the most advanced techniques in the manga industry, such as the basics of how to draw manga, panel layout techniques, and tips for creating ideas, which are difficult to learn not only in foreign countries but also in Japan. You can concentrate and learn.
By sharing the same space, spending the same time, and experiencing nature and culture with the locals of Japan and Kumamoto, we will not only improve their manga skills, but also connect Kumamoto and the world through manga. This will lead to the further spread of silent manga.
Kumamoto International Manga CAMP (tentative name) will include approximately 50 overseas manga creators, as well as editorial staff from Monthly Comic Zenon Editorial Department, WEB Comic Zenyon Editorial Department, SMAC Editorial Department, and our representative Nobuhiko Horie. .
